Trinity Central Coordinator
Richard joined the staff of Trinity Law School in May of 2016 as the Trinity Central Coordinator. After growing up in Long Beach, CA and completing his Bachelor’s studies, he earned his M.Div. from Grace Theological Seminary in Indiana. The majority of Richard’s life has been spent in Africa working in the Republic of Chad and in Kenya. Among his many activities, two were constant themes: leadership training and mentoring young men, and development of theological education.
During his 13 years in the Republic of Chad, his other activities included providing logistical support and curricular direction in establishing a Bible college, directing famine relief efforts, surviving that country’s civil war and teaching English as a study language and Philosophy (in French) at the regional high school in the city of Moundou. While in Kenya, Richard worked in two different Bible colleges. During his 10 years at Pwani Bible College in Mombasa, Kenya, he was Associate Professor of Old Testament and Ethics and served as Academic Dean. During his 10 years at Moffat Bible College, located one hour North of the capital Nairobi, Richard was Associate Professor of Old Testament History, in New Testament Analysis, in Ethics and in Cultural Issues and served as Vice Principal for Academic Affairs, guiding MBC through reaccreditation with ACTEA (Accrediting Council for Theological Education in Africa), supervising a total restructuring of the MBC curriculum and planning and implementing a new paradigm for the MBC Board of Governors. He initiated and coordinated inservice chaplaincy training for MBC students at the largest maximum security prison in East Africa with over 5,000 inmates.
Richard’s activities outside the African context have included teaching French at a private university in SoCal, working as the assistant to the Executive Secretary to the President/CEO of Goodwill Industries of Long Beach & South Bay, providing Customer Service Satisfaction at Wine Country Gift Baskets, driving for Uber and Lyft, authoring short stories on life in Africa, consulting with groups who envision living and working in Africa and serving as the CEO of a startup company, Here2There Enterprises, based in Orange County.
Richard assists students, faculty, staff, and visitors at the front desk and is available Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.
